Token Gauge, CodexBar, SessionWatcher and ccusage

Last updated 14 October 2026. No prices are stated for the other tools. Check each project for what it does today.

These are four different ways to look at AI coding usage. Token Gauge is the app this site ships. The other three are named so you can tell them apart. This page does not rank them and does not quote their prices.

Token Gauge

A local-first menu-bar app on macOS 12 or later (Apple Silicon), a system-tray app on Windows 10 and 11, and a Fedora x86_64 RPM (tokengauge-fedora-x86_64.rpm, Fedora 44 and newer). It meters Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot and Antigravity. Claude Code overall 5-hour and weekly limits stay free. The other agents are the $11.99 lifetime licence: three devices, every OS, 30-day refund. There is no account and no telemetry. Your code and prompts stay on the machine. A percentage is shown only when the provider publishes one. Antigravity agy log parsing is still in the works. The published Mac build is ad-hoc signed and not notarized. The published Windows installer and Fedora RPM are unsigned.

CodexBar

The public CodexBar repository describes the project as usage stats for OpenAI Codex and Claude Code, without a separate login. This page does not claim which operating systems it ships, and it does not claim coverage of Cursor, Copilot or Antigravity.

SessionWatcher

SessionWatcher is a macOS menu-bar app. The build inspected for this page on 14 October 2026 was version 7.5.3, bundle id com.sessionwatcher.app. Its Info.plist lists MacOSX as the only platform and macOS 14 as the minimum. This page does not describe its feature list or its price.

ccusage

ccusage is the public npx ccusage command. It is a report you run in a terminal, not a menu-bar or tray app that stays open. This page does not restate which agents the current release prints. It is not a Token Gauge product, and no price is quoted here.

Provider dashboards and your own scripts remain available. They are free of a Token Gauge licence. They also leave you with a separate place, or a script you maintain, for each provider. Details of what each provider actually exposes are on the limits page.

What this page doesn't cover: Team billing, SSO, or enterprise usage aggregation. Those live in each provider's own admin console or third-party contract; they're out of scope for single-developer tracking tools.
